How to create a BoatProject user

How to set up a user in BoatProject

Welcome to BoatProject! To create an account, go to http://www.boatproject.com
In the top menu, click "Login".  This will take you to the login / create user screen.

Note: When you create a new user, it will create a Bronze Level (free) account and will not ask for a credit card. You can upgrade from the application via the "Account" option (later in this tutorial).


Next, click on "Don't Have An Account?". It will prompt you to enter an email address and a password.



Complete those fields and click "Create Account". This will take you to a login screen.  Enter the credentials you just supplied.

Once you successfully login, you will be asked for your name.



Provide a name and click "Next".
After submitting that, you will be asked to provide a vessel name and a few descriptive items that will help the system guide you to appropriate resources in the future.  You may also skip adding a vessel if you are creating an account to be crew on someone else's vessel. See below:


After you click either "Skip" or "Create", you will be taken to the My Tasks page. This will be empty since you have not tasks.  Click "My Projects" (also empty as you haven't created projects yet) to bring up your projects page. Click the "+" in the lower right corner to create a project.

To upgrade in order to have access to the Library and other features, or in order to be added to another vessel as crew, click on "Account" in the top menu bar.  This will show your information and the current plan that you have subscribed to. If you just created this user, you will be Bronze as this is the free account.


Click on "Current Plan:Bronze" to pull up the upgrade window.  From here, select the plan you wish to subscribe to. This will pull up a window for credit card information.
